Hello! It’s Andrea and Tim and this is our very first episode of Beyond The Rona. We’re so excited to begin this journey and we hope you can join us. Beyond The Rona focuses on the issues that affect us here in Logan and more broadly Brisbane and Queensland. We’re focusing on how we can collectively build back better post-pandemic and make our communities stronger.
In this episode we discuss Beyond the Rona Origins!
Introducing Andrea, former Registered Nurse, Midwife in Private Practice and community advocate
Introducing Tim, Small Business owner and Digital Marketer
The purpose of starting this podcast was to create a platform for the community to discuss issues regarding politics in the community and find ways to address those issues.
Politics is part of our lives and has an impact on so many facets in our lives, and yet a lot of us are so disconnected from it.
If any of these issues matter to you, please reach out to us!

Tim and I also have a chat about our background and how we came to be interested in politics and grassroots democracy, starting with what we learned about politics in school, our involvement in small acts of political activism in university and beyond such as petition signing, letter writing to members of parliament and community organising.
We’re at the beginning of this journey so we’re not exactly sure what to expect. Not exactly sure what we will find out along the way. But come along with us and explore these topics with us, meet some colourful local characters and hear what they have to say. We have a new world to explore as we learn to live with Covid19 now. It’s time to open up. Only this time, we’ll do it better and emerge as a more cohesive and connected community.
Beyond the Rona Podcast is recorded in Logan, Queensland on Yuggera country. We acknowledge the traditional owners past, present and emerging.
